Get your tickets to see country legend Pam Tillis at Colusa Casino Resort

Pam Tillis’s performance on stage is as energetic and as captivating as her voice is torchy, forceful and direct. Colusa Casino Resort guests have a special chance to see her electrifying live performance on July 24th at one show at 8:00pm.

Even before the world heard her voice ring out on radio and video, Tillis had already achieved success with her strong songwriting ability - a craft she continues to hone even while she is busy touring. Despite the hustle and bustle she finds time to collect her creative thoughts and put them down on paper. In addition to writing most of her own material, Tillis has also written a number of songs for other well-known country artists including Highway 101, Juice Newton, Ricky Van Shelton, and the late Conway Twitty.

Tillis was introduced to country music by her father, renowned country singer Mel Tillis. Pam tagged along with her father to the recording studio as well as to the Grand Ole Opry, where she met country legends such as Dottie West and Tammy Wynette. These childhood experiences left a lasting impression on Tillis, who is fond of saying “I’ve got one foot in old Nashville and one foot in new Nashville.”

Her performance debut was with her father when she was only eight years old. While still a teenager she began her country music career as a back up vocalist in her father’s band.

Tickets are $35 for Preferred or $25 Reserved and are on sale at the Colusa Casino Resort Gift Shop or at www.starticketsplus.com.

Experience the 'American Veterans Traveling Tribute' at Colusa Casino Resort from November 11th - 16th

In honor of America’s military veterans, Colusa Casino Resort guests are invited to come see the American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) on display at the Colusa Indian Community Center from November 11th - 16th, 2009.  The exhibit opens to visitors on Veteran's Day, November 11th, and an official Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 2:00pm on Thursday, November 12th, featuring an invocation, music, speeches by veterans, a 21-gun salute, local & state dignitaries and a military fly over.

After the Opening Ceremony we will be holding a USO Show for FREE at 4pm and 7pm on November 12th.  We'll be giving away a 'Trip for Two to the Memorials in D.C.' at each show, and the first 250 Veterans to attend the shows will receive a FREE HAT of their branch of service!  We're also giving away a FREE Seasons Buffet for all active and retired military from November 11th - 16th!

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute tours the USA each year, participating in sponsored events with a mission to honor, respect, and remember those who served and those who are serving.  The exhibit is taken from city to city as a tribute to those who died, and to help families who can't get to Washington D.C. to reflect on the sacrifice of their loved ones.  The tribute is a replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. which shows the names of 58,621 men and women lost in that conflict.

Also on display will be a tribute made up of dog tags for all those lost in conflicts after Vietnam.  The 'Cost of Freedom' displays are nine large memorials represented in gold dog tags under glass to remember and honor all who died in service since Vietnam, including the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.  Other memorials and exhibits included in the AVTT event include a 'Walk of Heroes' that pays tribute and provides education about our country's history; 'Vietnam Remembered', a nationally acclaimed art display of original paintings; a 'Tribute Panel'; and a World War II display of photographs and information paying tribute to WWII veterans.  For more information, visit www.avtt.org

The exhibit will be on display 24 hours a day during its stay at Colusa Casino Resort, so don't miss this wonderful opportunity to "experience" some of our country's military history.

Club 45

I have worked at a couple of the Club 45s that we have had, I thought that it was cool to see the amount of people out here dancing. I liked the idea of the new VIP section that we raffle off. I thought that it was great to have the drink specials going on, people were happy with the low prices. The DJ was great, he played anything from the 80s and stuff from today, and anything in between. I saw a bunch of people that I knew and I can’t wait to see the next one.

Great Times at the Comedy Club

The last Comedy Club that we had was amazing. I couldn’t stop laughing, and neither could the around 450 people that were there. The comedians we had were extremely funny and I can’t wait to see the next two this month.
