Experience the 'American Veterans Traveling Tribute' at Colusa Casino Resort from November 11th - 16th

In honor of America’s military veterans, Colusa Casino Resort guests are invited to come see the American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) on display at the Colusa Indian Community Center from November 11th - 16th, 2009.  The exhibit opens to visitors on Veteran's Day, November 11th, and an official Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 2:00pm on Thursday, November 12th, featuring an invocation, music, speeches by veterans, a 21-gun salute, local & state dignitaries and a military fly over.

After the Opening Ceremony we will be holding a USO Show for FREE at 4pm and 7pm on November 12th.  We'll be giving away a 'Trip for Two to the Memorials in D.C.' at each show, and the first 250 Veterans to attend the shows will receive a FREE HAT of their branch of service!  We're also giving away a FREE Seasons Buffet for all active and retired military from November 11th - 16th!

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute tours the USA each year, participating in sponsored events with a mission to honor, respect, and remember those who served and those who are serving.  The exhibit is taken from city to city as a tribute to those who died, and to help families who can't get to Washington D.C. to reflect on the sacrifice of their loved ones.  The tribute is a replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. which shows the names of 58,621 men and women lost in that conflict.

Also on display will be a tribute made up of dog tags for all those lost in conflicts after Vietnam.  The 'Cost of Freedom' displays are nine large memorials represented in gold dog tags under glass to remember and honor all who died in service since Vietnam, including the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.  Other memorials and exhibits included in the AVTT event include a 'Walk of Heroes' that pays tribute and provides education about our country's history; 'Vietnam Remembered', a nationally acclaimed art display of original paintings; a 'Tribute Panel'; and a World War II display of photographs and information paying tribute to WWII veterans.  For more information, visit www.avtt.org

The exhibit will be on display 24 hours a day during its stay at Colusa Casino Resort, so don't miss this wonderful opportunity to "experience" some of our country's military history.
